3 - Holaaa at the next model

Posted by Marius Oberholster on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, In : News
Hey all!

What next model? Well, I'd love to tell you, but I just can't. It's too early in the post, hehe.

Okay, you win! lol.

I recently joined CGTrader and started loading models from the short films - and some related new ones! They take some work to convert from Blender Render, but oh my-my-my-my-my are they pretty when they land!!! You can check them out here!

Each one links to the model's page on CGTrader, for example.

So, when I post a model, I usually proceed to the next one, but ...

Hand over

Posted by Marius Oberholster on Thursday, October 26, 2017, In : WIP
Hey all!
This week's vlog!

GOD is so wonderful!!

  - Sound work
Last week I talked about a few issues with the sound. I forgot about these in the vlog, but no matter - it saves drastically on data and honestly, you won't notice much of a difference anyway (a reflection on how small the adjustments are), hahaha.

 - Fire sound adjustment
I mentioned last week that the fire sounds were too loud - especially on head phones and so I reduced them this week. I do notice that they don't really have ...

An epic confrontation

Posted by Marius Oberholster on Thursday, July 27, 2017, In : WIP
Hey all!
This week's vlog!!

GOD is super!!!

- Choice in serpent
I have talked about it before, but I want to write it here again, since this is where the serpent features again. It featured all the way back in September 2016 (oh yeah, it's been almost an entire year! hahaha).

When you go and look up serpent in the interlinear Bible, you will find that serpent is defined as pretty much any kind of reptile (including dinosaurs). If you look at dinosaurs from a truly Biblical perspective, you w...

Defocus on the fringe

Posted by Marius Oberholster on Thursday, June 22, 2017, In : WIP
Hey all!

Today's vlog!

GOD is so wonderful!

 - Question the medium: 3D
Simon from DSLR Guide said something a few weeks ago about the whole VR camera and medium, and it was: "Question the medium". What that means is that the medium has to add something to the story, or it's not useful in the first place.
Before watching that video, I felt that way, but didn't quite know how to define it until watching his video (GOD is so good - always provides the answers!). So my goal was to have 3D actually...

New videos announcement!

Posted by Marius Oberholster on Saturday, September 3, 2016, In : WIP
Hey all!

Now, I want to clarify the title before going any further. Two videos - a tutorial and a vlog.

- The Vlog:
As you all know, a vlog is simply a video blog, where you document something pertaining to the way you do life or whatever. For me, it will be a much easier way of communicating progress to you guys on upcoming videos, so they will appear here on this blog as well as on the YouTube channel, so if you want to be the first to get the vlogs, hit that subscribe button on YouTube! :D

Speed mesh

Posted by Marius Oberholster on Saturday, July 2, 2016, In : Tutorials and tips
Hey all!

Today I get to share something very special!

(trust me, play the video, it makes sense - GOD IS SO GOOD!)

Hey all!

Over the recent week, there has been a ton of interest in a method that could deform a mesh based on speed. Think of it as a physical motion blur. So many people pitched in with various ideas and GOD was so gracious to give us the solution.

This is the post that started the search:

Susa time

Posted by Marius Oberholster on Thursday, April 7, 2016, In : WIP
Hey all!!

That time of the week again and this week, I actually get to show you the city in motion. Last week I only got to show you some images (was still rendering at the time).

Before we get to the final video for the week, I would like to talk about what went into it.

- Sound effects
Crowd Sounds
Now, this is nothing new, as you guys have all heard the tap on the table, Haman's feet and so on, but this specific week presented me with a challenge I initially felt overwhelmed by - Crowds!

Of c...

Animation and sound effects

Posted by Marius Oberholster on Thursday, March 10, 2016, In : WIP
Hey all!

Today's update takes a bit of a different route. I'm actually gonna let you watch everything I've been graced to put together so far - not fullHD, as that takes significantly longer and this took long enough to upload last night so I can actually share it, hahaha.

So, here is everything put together so far:

(Only 01:08, so it's a quick watch)

Now let's get into what went into this, hahaha.

Animation challenges and tips:
- Make sure your models are complete before rendering.
Sounds kinda duh...

Render render render

Posted by Marius Oberholster on Thursday, March 3, 2016, In : WIP
Hey all!

Today's post is absolutely loaded with renders and a video or two and we talk about dialogue! haha.

- 7 Chamberlains
Let's kick it off where we ended last week - modeling! When I posted last time, with each post, I wondered how many chamberlains the king actually had attending him. And oh yes, there were 7. It's in the first chapter of Esther and I was like NOOOOOOOooooooooo.......... Haha. By this time, I had already modeled one and GOD insisted from the start of it, that I make a time...

Wow another

Posted by Marius Oberholster on Wednesday, November 25, 2015, In : Tutorials and tips
Good day everyone!!!

I am so blessed to be given such an assignment from GOD - to make Bible animations. I can honestly say that I have no clue how many videos I'll be able to make, but I'll tell you this, I want to do all 66 books in totality. That may take some time, hahaha.

With GOD all things are possible, so let's see what HE does!

Welcome to the new blog! This blog is here to keep you up to date on developments in the making of these videos, progress images and even some tutorials. Feel fr...
