New method

Hey all!
This week's vlog!

GOD is so awesome!

 - New 3D method
In the spirit of posting a new tutorial two weeks ago, GOD gave me two of the coolest gifts for production:
 - A new 3D method
 - that's 2 seconds faster and much higher quality (with a catch though)

Over the passed few years, GOD has given me an amazing amazing 3D method that enables me to do 3D renders for just a few seconds more than a 2D one. Ever since the whole process started, it has been a total dream of mine to be able to produce a 3D result that is virtually ghostless and this week, GOD certainly came through in a big way. I would not say that this is 100% ghostless yet, but it is:
1) Much much much sharper than the previous results with much less ghosting
2) 2-3 seconds faster per frame
3) 100% relative over resolutions since it follows a very unique approach

See, the previous method had all manner of things to calculate and on and on and on, but these things just never really shined through... It works. It really does. You guys have seen it many times in previous vlogs, but I longed for a much better result and oh snap did GOD provide!

Simply put, it cuts the scene up into depth based slices and then shifts those slices to correspond to the correct depth, giving you a new angle. Of course this would ghost like mad if you just left it at that, so GOD had me start with the background. It needs to be repaired like the Defocus node tutorial, so that whatever is laid on top of it is the only thing that is visible for that object. This does present us with a problem on how to define how much would be cut way and how much will not (it actually does differ between scenes, shockingly...).
Is there still ghosting? Absolutely... When an object crosses from one depth layer to another, there is ghosting, but because this is a post processing tool, everything can be animated so the effect is obviously greatly minimized and that makes the new method not just sharper, but much more enjoyable to watch and gives a more "True 3D" result - albeit a bit parallax-y.

I did go online to look for an app that can turn a photo 3D based on a depth map, but I just get the usual stuff for Gimp and Photoshop and the old method already does with in Blender and quite frankly, it distorts a bit too much (depending on how you set it up). I like this new method more.

I will not yet delete the old method as it is extremely user-friendly (imo) and despite it's speed, very easy to control. I will certainly keep it in the toolbox so that if I encounter as scene where this just doesn't come out well, there is always a backup tool that can handle any scene thrown at it with relative ease.

Note: I would luv to one day do a series of tutorials on 3D and how this method works, but as of yet, no peace about it. Maybe GOD has yet another method up HIS sleeves that is even better than this one! :D

 - Blood splatter
I also got to test out what the splatter and splash is supposed to look like and what method I am supposed to use when it comes to the breaking of the pot. I was given a flash of what it's supposed to be and that's what I'm pursuing - GOD is so awesome!
Basically, like you saw in the video, it's like throwing someone a ball or for yourself, to hit it with whatever you have in hand. In the magicians' case, it's a strike of the water while in the pot. Of course, this doesn't even come close to GOD turning the river into blood, but it sure was enough for Pharaoh apparently...

 - One new shot
I really want to get back to producing plenty of shots in a week. I'm thankful for the progress, but wow, a lot still needs to be done! hahaha. May GOD grant me the speed I need to make finish this and finish it with great speed and exceptional quality!! Still a great shot! haha (^^,)

 - Alternative super resolution and 3D conversion
I spent quite a lot of time this week looking for other software that can help me with 3D conversion from 2D, based on depth maps, and quite frankly, I found nothing better than what I already have (that's free). YUV Soft's AE plugin would be the best I can think of! As for Super Resolution, I found one that just absolutely blew my mind (though not free for commercial use). Check out this one! Don't just go with the before and after images - check out the last page of the PDF! If you don't feel like screaming: "Oooh! That's it!!!" then I don't know what will (when it comes to super resolution that is).
In general though, the 3D and Super Resolution tools I currently have are generally the best for the consumer that can be used commercially (ie Blender and Reshade). I am hugely disappointed that it's non-commercial, but eh, I know in these situations they are building on previous work and other research, which means all manner of royalties and and and, so I do get it - just disappointed, hahaha.

Anyhow, that is it for this week's post - I am just so thankful for everyone who reads, comments and watches! Thank you!

Biggest thanx to GOD for helping me with this. Without HIM, none of this would be possible! :D
