Moving into chapter 8

Hey all!

This week's vlog!!

GOD is so awesome!!

 - Very little time this week
I had an amazing week. I got to go visit my cousin over the weekend and got to some much needed garden and house work, so this week, I literally had only 1 afternoon and an evening, haha. GOD made it such a productive afternoon - it was just amazing! I still felt pulled to procrastinate, but it was much less than usual.

 - A stinging experience
Also got stung by bees for the first time, haha. I was mowing the lawn and I felt a serious sting in my side and I pulled up the shirt and saw nothing. When I put back the shirt, I saw two bees with meaning! hahaha. I ran around the front yard's edge to get as much distance as possible as quick as possible and wanted to get as many doors between me and the bees as possible. I got in the front door, practically tore my shirt off to get it off quickly enough. In the process, I got stung in the hand and stomped the shirt so that whatever bees were left, would not be able to sting further (if their stingers remained) and I ran for the bathroom, to get an additional door closed. As soon as I closed the door, I still heard a humming and saw one on my chest, which I proceeded to just swipe off and left it in the bathroom and closed the door. At this point I could focus on whether I was allergic or not, haha. I looked at the amount of local swelling around the sting, but it wasn't clearly defined so I just prayed healing over it and I asked if we had any medication for allergic reactions and of course, we had none so my dad and I went to the pharmacy and I bought some, also getting something to drink it with. By this time, the swelling had drastically gone down and the intensity of the situation settled. It was quite an afternoon. I just left the lawn mower to run out of fuel, because the bees were swarming around it. Someone said it's the sound that upsets them, but I disagree. The bees have been there for a long time and before I mowed the lawn, I used the weed-eater to trim the edges of the lawn and that thing make a much louder and sharper noise. Not only that, I mowed under the bees first and was much further away when they got aggravated. That tells me that I must've bumped into one without realizing it and it sent out the panic signal. Anyway, trusting GOD for the money to have them removed professionally (we discovered the hive end of last year)

 - Lower bitrate for faster upload
Back to the technical side of things. Because this week was pretty much only storyboards, I felt lead to reduce the bitrate a bit, so the file could upload faster. I took it down by a thousand, so it's at 5000, making it upload a lot faster than usual (apart from the slightly shorter length). In fact, so fast, it beat me in rendering and upload in comparison to writing this post, haha. Next time you do a video that doesn't have a lot of motion and you don't have the fastest connection, try reducing the bitrate a bit. :D

 - Storyboards and leading
Storyboards are an amazing way and open door for GOD to give new ideas. I had considered using hieroglyphics like the Prince of Egypt had for the dream sequence, but not in the same way. Last night, while working on the storyboards, the one turned out in a very hieroglyphic style and I really felt that it would be ideal for the abstract display of showing 7 days passing, rather than just plastering it on-screen. Don't get me wrong, it can work too, but it still needs to be visually interesting and using an figurative abstract art form to show an abstract concept (time lapse) is a very cool thing. I just have to depend on the HOLY SPIRIT to show me exactly how to do it, because it can easily come off overwhelming because of the 14 slices of day and night added together that has to transpire quickly.

Another place I really felt lead this week was with the bubbles in the water when it turns to blood. I didn't see it, but as I am sitting here, I am getting a verse that says it's very possible that the water did bubble as it turned into blood:
"For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had." John 5:4, KJV. Of course, this is a stretch, but it does show that for the water to have had that effect on someone, it was definitely touched and moved or stirred in some way shape or form. That says to me it didn't just fade to red, but something more took place. I remember in the Prince Of Egypt, the blood came from Moses' staff like blood would as it enters the water, which looked really cool. I just believe it may have happened in a more extravagant way, based on the incident in John 5:4 and of course, the flood at Noah's time with the fountains of the deep breaking open (that would've been pretty spectacular).

 - Shortening and dialogue
I mentioned this in the previous vlog and it was certainly something I had to get back to this week. I am so thankful that GOD let's me find these things early, instead of later, so that it's minimal effort to fix. In the area where Moses and Aaron confront Pharaoh the first time, I only had GOD narrating it, but when I went back, I saw that what HE said you could actually use a proper dialogue, introduced by HIM. It fits this verse too: "For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure." Philippians 2:13, KJV. Of course, this means continuing the trend with the rest of the short. I do believe that the instructions for the passover might be handled slightly differently, just so that the visuals and the audio don't pull away from each other. I remember in Genesis 1 I had that problem where Eve was walking up to Adam and my cousin said that her focus was more on what Eve was about to do as opposed to what GOD was saying about what they would eat, etc. Too much info to focus on at once... Easy mistake to make. For the sake of ease, here is the video embedded:

GOD is so cool!!! :D

 - Prayer
Of course, this one goes without saying, but these projects really need your constant intercession. I cannot even begin to express the amount of trouble the Devil wants to cause personally, through distractions, difficulty, etc. I know GOD allows him some leash because trials are for our benefit and we are geared to win, but we need to hold each other up in prayer.
Please pray for other projects like this too. For example, Superbook is an amazing series that really helps kids (and adults too) to really apply the Word of GOD to their own lives. Because projects like this are bringing you the Word of GOD in a clear way, they are on the Devil's most wanted list. GOD is stronger in every way, so please pray! :D

Biggest thanx to GOD for helping me with this. Without HIM, none of this would be possible! :D
