Modeling, post and clouds

Hey all!!
This week's vlog:
GOD is so good!!
- Guards
The guards are not made overly emphasized, because they really do need to kinda blend into the background, but still be distinguishable. It's easy on projects like this to, for extras, simply use the same model and while there is space for that, when you only have a handful of people, like the guards, for example, you need to add some individuality. Think of it like a curve. The more the people, the less individuality the people will have. The amount the uniqueness reduces, is honestly up to the creator - in my case that is up to GOD. HE decides how many guards get individual faces and how many don't. :)
- Palace
Of course we still need a lot of texturing and modeling done here, but I am so thankful for the pottery and other decor (like the harp), HE's enabled me to make for this week. They will go such a long way and I cannot emphasize how important these little details are. If you walk into a house with barely any decor, it lacks personality. It lacks that "people live here" feeling, you know. When you have been places, you have all sorts of vases, pictures, momentoes etc. Scenes have to be "lived in".
The biggest thing for the palace and other architecture with a project like this, is detail. A lot of detail goes into the hieroglyphics and the Egyptians took a long time to do them and I have a very short time in which to do them, hahaha. Thankfully mine are on the PC and GOD had me make a font for it, hahaha.
Oh, big tip:
When you texture something like the palace, look for walls that overlap consistently, so you can use the exact same texture and unwrapping for them - it reduces the load on the rendering and the amount of work you need to do.
- Clouds
Quite a challenge, I will say. GOD was so good for helping me get this one. I didn't even think of particles. I wanted to use textures, weird masking tricks in the compositor, etc. Nothing would work, except what HE showed, particles. Now, I always want HIM to show me these things the second I start or earlier, but sometimes HE let's me work up to them. I appreciate that variety, because it really keeps things interesting. The best though, is when HE gives it to me before and I'm like: "I don't know if that will work..." and when it does go: "Should've known it would..." hahahaha.
- Magic texture
Probably the most unique out of all Blender's procedural textures, it really lends itself to really ornate detail, without really having ornate detail, like here:
(Very cool idea - GOD loves to surprise with awesome ideas long before we even know we need it)
This week's vlog:
GOD is so good!!
This week, despite being so occupied with other things, GOD really shone through and enabled me to still get a lot done for the project! I am sooooo thankful!
The biggest reason for this week's deviation from the normal, is that HE has assigned me a week of work in the garden. And I don't mean just a little snip and mow, oh no! We're talking like an overhaul. See, because I do a lot on projects like this, I can't get to everything else as well - that means that the garden often looks a bit neglected to put it nicely, hahaha. Nothing heavy, because I still mow the lawn and still spray for weeds once in a while, etc, but it does overgrow some and so on, but I am amazed at how much HE's had me do this week! It looks phenomenal atm, even compared to where it was. I am beyond thankful!
May the next few weeks of the project be exponential to what has happened in the garden over the last three days (Monday-Wednesday) and even more so as I get to tackle the last two days of this garden week. :D

And that is it for this week's (v)Blog, hahaha.
