Long time

Hey all!
This week's vlog!

GOD is beyond words!!! Just wow!!

 - Re-Rendering a lot...of the same, haha
Like the last time I got to vlog, these weeks contained a lot of re-rendering. With the new 10-layer method, it means that some scenes have too many artifacts... I tried rendering some shots with it to get a much sharper result, but honestly, some shots are only going to be as good as they are with the methods I currently have at my disposal. A lot of re-rendering has occurred these weeks. Only 3D stuff though. The 2D stuff is golden on render.

Which leads me to my next reason for soooooo long time away - A new proposal!

 - 2D to 3D Conversion Node
The proposal is so awesome! I am so grateful that GOD has allowed me to put it together. This one mentions one specific repair method that I believe is really the best for the conversion. It comes down to seeing what information is there and extending that information. Of course, this is not a fool-proof method, but it does mean that the information that does get added into the holes, will make much more sense than a glassy distortion. Plus, because this is already taken from existing information, temporal coherence is not a problem.

This is being extremely brief on the proposal, but I really really encourage you to go read it and give it an upvote, so 3D can be a common format - not an exception or gimmick!

It is a great read and I definitely encourage you to go check it out!

 - New shots
This week came with a shot and a half, hahaha. That means that I am still working on the shot, while one has been finished and added to the edit.

The first one for the week was Aaron lifting his hand and rod to call frogs up and the second is just an underwater look for the frogs coming to the surface, but there is something very interesting around how Aaron should be lifting his hands.

 - The flesh or the SPIRIT
Whenever we do something for GOD, we do it in the natural, but through the HOLY SPIRIT. That means that natural and spiritual have to come together for a completed work that will last into eternity. In turn, our flesh obviously participates, but thankfully GOD understands this and gives us the blessing anyway - can someone say Grace!!

There are two examples of this atm:
 - Aaron's possible way of stretching out his hands
 - GOD telling Moses to do it a certain way, him doing it slightly different.

What I mean by flesh participation, I'm not talking about the sinful nature or disobeying GOD, but just our natural inclination to want to participate. In Aaron's case it comes out in the speed at which he stretches out his arms - almost like trying to make it happen, you know.

For me it was totally unintentional that it came out that way. When GOD showed me that's what I did, I was like: "Nooo! We just can't seem to get away from it!!" hahaha.

The initial struggle for me was similar to when he threw down the rod before Pharaoh. Was Aaron going to "sign" for the frogs to come up, or totally lean on GOD to do it and just stick out his hands and trust. With the thrusting forth, he lets his flesh kinda participate.

Another reason for the sudden bursting movement, is that he knows it's gonna come on the Israelites as well (clenched fist). Remember, they get the first few plagues, because they held onto the Egyptian gods (Ezekiel 20:8-9).

 - Frogs come up
This is a very difficult one for me personally. I'm not a biologist, so frogs are not my expertise and apparently, very few other peoples', haha. I mentioned in the video looking for how long Rana Esculenta can stay underwater, but came up with nothing...

HOWEVER, there is some information on a Q&A site called Quora about this issue and the flat answer is: "depends" hahahaha. You can see their very well written answer here:
https://www.quora.com/How-long-can-amphibians-stay-underwater-What-can-affect-this

It depends on the condition of the environment and on the type of frog as well as how it is designed. Can it absorb oxygen through the skin, how much does, how much oxygen is in the water, how clean is the water, how big is the frog, how much surface area is there to absorb oxygen, etc. It is a mess of factors, but I will probably go for an approach that mixes the two a little:
 - Frogs coming up from under the water
 - Frogs hopping towards the shores and visiting the people

I'm still working on frog sounds though...

 - Audio - Type of phone

Samsung Galaxy S4 - GT-I9500

Unfortunately, I have data limitations for the vlogs, so the audio quality is not reflective of how good the mics really are. Check out some of the previous vlogs' sound where I uploaded at 50% HD. Pretty much everything from before a year ago.

On a more serious note though.

 - Choice of denying CHRIST

This is not something I am very keen on sharing, but I do feel that it is worth mentioning. I wanted to share the proposal somewhere and was told that I should rather share it on a specific site - both of which will remain nameless.

I responded with the terms of service of that site and said that my work is not welcome there, because it is essentially of a religious nature (I'm sure you know where this is going).

This person responded really nicely that they believe it refers to hate speech, which it would if that "and/or" wasn't there, but because they weren't sure, they asked someone else to chime in.

I was basically told that if I kept GOD in the proposal, my sharing it will get my post most probably locked, because how people might respond.

So, was I persecuted here for the Name of JESUS - yeah, to an extent I think it falls under that category, because I was stonewalled because of HIS Name. Does it mean that I have to shake the dust off my feet as a testimony? Unfortunately yes, because JESUS is not welcome there and that does mean dire consequences on the day of judgment...

Do bear in mind that the people who responded to me are not the problem, so let's be clear here - no one hurled insults at anyone, there was no fighting or ugliness, so me mentioning this is certainly not a naming and shaming thing, but it is definitely a sign of the times.

Of course I refuse to take GOD out of my work, especially since HE's the ONE that gave it to me in the first place, not to mention the examples are from Exodus, so that means we're not welcome there. I cleared my profile and left it there dust and all...

I am so grateful I passed the test of whether to deny GOD to please people. I chose JESUS and I want you to rest easy that when the time comes, you can too. The HOLY SPIRIT will give you the conviction you need to stand your ground in a very respectful way - and HE'll reward you for it too:

"Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven."
Matthew 10:32-33, KJV.

Do not give in to please people on this. Yes, we're to live at peace with people as far as it depends on us, but this is a very clear point.

 - Friendly reminder
Of course there is still the other NPR proposal. It still needs love and sharing and upvoting and all those wonderful things:
And that is it for this week! Really interesting! hahaha. Thank you for reading, watching, liking, commenting and subscribing! It really means a lot!

About Me

Marius Oberholster Hey all! I've been doing CG work full-time since 2011. GOD has been with me, supported me and taught me all the way. HE tells us to do all things as unto the LORD and that is my goal. I do whatever I believe the HOLY SPIRIT is leading me to do and it's not always easy, but it's always worth it to be obedient! JESUS is awesome!! If you don't know HIM yet, follow the link above!
