Hey all!

GOD is so awesome!
This week's vlog!!!
GOD is so awesome!
- Herbs and fruit trees
In Exodus, GOD specifically makes mention of herbs. I was really in the dark about what they would define as herbs, for the simple reason that I don't know plants all that well. I do know what a fruit tree is and I can see the difference between it and mint, for example, but I don't know what technically qualifies and herb. For example, you also get the ever ambiguous tomato, haha. So, I felt led to simply check out the definitions. According to the Webster:
And according to the Brown-Driver-Brigg's Definition:
But, what confused me even further was this website about the Herbs Of Egypt, which lists Aloe as a herb and I'm like: "Wha'!? Aloe a herb?! Doesn't make sense to me, but okay...", hahaha. Not here to argue what herbs are with someone, just wanted to know what is generally considered one and what is not.
So what we are left with, is a very broad classification of plants that can be considered pretty much anything soft and green and generally edible (generally, not always - some weeds are edible, and some not so much, hahaha).
- Locusts abound
As I mentioned in the video, we generally don't consider that the way the Bible describes things is the way it looked (as if they exaggerated it like we tend to do sometimes). Nope, they did not - check out this pic. This picture is one of crickets, but locusts are bigger and generally darker when they are in their swarming phase. They become a very stark black and yellow, as opposed to the multi-colored, but mostly green body, which you can see here.
You can see a green and black and yellow one compared here.
- Some clever display ideas
In the older cartoons, they have always done swarm super well. I think it is because no two frames were supposed to be the same, but wow! They truly did and it has definitely inspired at least partially the look I want to go for, as they consume everything.
One of the truly inspiring ideas from this week, was the idea GOD gave me of using silhouettes to show the trees being cleaned as they pass - shadows on the grasshoppers themselves! What an awesome idea! I was just walking outside when I saw the tree's shadow on the pavement and it hit me like a ton of bricks and I was like: "YES! That's it!!" haha. GOD is so good! :D
- Night or day
This one GOD settled for me even before the video, so I don't know if that was just a brain slip or something, but the scripture is very clear that no one rose from their place (the Egyptians) for three days, neither did they see each other, so Pharaoh did not call for Moses and Aaron, because they did not speak to each other. Also, he only called for Moses. Whether Aaron was there, I doubt, because only Moses was called for, but it is possible.
- New Quick Tip
Yey, another new video this week and that is one on the VSE and doing green screen with it! Remember, it is a very basic green screen, so don't expect the most amazing results - just enjoy it! It's a very quick method and one that has nothing to do with what I am working on atm, but certainly does for someone out there that GOD is reaching out to, so if you are reading this, and you feel that tug on your heart, don't ignore it. Surrender yourself and your life to JESUS - it's the best decision you will ever make!
GOD is so great!

HERB, n. erb. L. herba.
1. A plant or vegetable with a soft or succulent stalk or stem, which dies to the root every year, and is thus distinguished from a tree and a shrub, which have ligneous or hard woody stems.
2. In the Linnean botany, that part of a vegetable which springs from the root and is terminated by the fructification, including the stem or stalk, the leaves, the fulcra or props, and the hibernacle.
The word herb comprehends all the grasses, and numerous plants used for culinary purposes.
