Frog fix

Hey all!
This week's vlog!

GOD is so wonderful!!

 - Frog problems
Now I spoke about the frogs two weeks ago. While the frog was finished ito modelling, there were some serious issues with the rig. You'll remember that the eyes were heavily drooped as a result. Now, personally, I don't have a problem with droopy eyes (mine are a little droopy too, hehe), but this was borderline terrified or extremely disappointed. So it had to be fixed.
I noticed a few things.
 - Model adjustments post-rig
I did this more than once. The eyes just never got better. If anything they just got worse with the first attempt at rigging. No matter what bones were adjusted, it just sucked... I even double checked it with the original model and the eyes were the same (after adjusting the weights), yet they looked horrible. I just had to scrap that version totally...
 - Return to an unrigged model
Of course, with the previous failing, I had to return to a backup, I felt led to make, from the start (Thank YOU LORD!). Working on that, I used the exact same rig armature and rigged again using automatic weights and I opened a reference pic (you should always use reference if you want your work to be good - for some reason I didn't - possibly because I felt the model was done). Regardless of stage of production, always keep good reference with you.
So on the new(ly) rigged model, I adjusted the eye's rig first and it came out really well, but the eyes were still amiss. I looked at the reference and saw that my frog's eyes were too large, too far apart and too harshly protruding from the head. After fixing those issues, the eyes looked much better.
 - Missing parts
Because of the type of frog this is, my model's typical build is wrong. The Rana Esculenta you typically find, is a small fat frog that almost resembles a toad (bigger, wider and rougher frogs). Mine is much skinnier than the typical rana esculenta. At this point, I'm just gonna have to go with the belief that that is the way the frog from back then looked, and I'll get to why a bit later in the post with another topic. Just keep this in mind.
The missing parts I am referring to here are of course the throat. There is a throat on my frog, but it's not as heavy as the one you'd expect. Like I said, mine has a skinnier build. You also have to consider the way this guy croaks. He uses little sacks in the cheeks to make his sounds, instead of his throat. Those also needed to be added. To add those, I added additional shapes, because of the lack of geometry in that area. They are joined and driven for expansion (shapekeys), so the textures and everything line up with the expansion of the sacks and they stay connected.

 - Patterns of Evidence: Exodus
This week I finally got to see Patterns of Evidence: Exodus! I luvd it so much, I watched it twice! I had watched a review on it on YouTube a while back, but I have to say, while it was a thorough review, it left me very puzzled as to why they made the doccie in the first place. Of course, I think this was to prevent any spoilers and unintentional. I will also not spoil it for you, by removing any statements that would reveal anything (^^,). I was house sitting over CHRISTmas so I could actually watch it.
Basically, the documentary (just wow) covers Tim Mahoney's journey for the truth about the Exodus. For a very long part of his life, he's been challenged by great skepticism in regards to the lack of evidence for the Exodus itself. He admits in the opening that he didn't even want to go looking, and was kinda dragged into it (my own phrasing), hahaha. I believe it was the HOLY SPIRIT doing it, because of everything on his journey.
What made me extra excited about it is the animation environments made for it. They very very closely resemble what GOD had me make for Exodus! HOW AWESOME IS THAT!!!!!! Even the difference in coloration. I was so excited when I saw that! I see things like that as encouragements from GOD that I have the right leading and conclusions on my research and that I am hearing from HIM the way I am supposed to.
He does end the doccie on a very fair statement - what he presented is still considered controversial and debated among the professionals in their respective fields of research, but that is usually the case when you stand up against main stream opinion.
Tim Mahoney certainly went out of his way to do a thorough job and I believe it was totally HOLY SPIRIT led. You can find more details after the Gospel at the end of this post.
I enjoyed it so much, I just had to watch it twice and I totally encourage everyone who reads these posts and watches these videos to see it. It is phenomenal!!!
I am not sponsored to talk about it, in case you were wondering. I was looking for a different doccie about the music industry and this one came up in the search and I felt strongly that the HOLY SPIRIT wanted me to watch this instead and the rest is history. If you want an official rating from me - I give it 5000 out of 5 stars! :)

Biggest thanx to GOD for helping me with this. Without HIM, none of this would be possible! :D

 - Review with some minimal spoilers
Basically, the documentary covers Tim Mahoney's journey for the truth about the Exodus. He's been challenged by great scepticism because of the lack of evidence for the Exodus. I believe it was the HOLY SPIRIT working in and prompting him to do it, because of all the amazing discoveries and evidence he found on his journey. And there is a lot - plus the similarities between what he found and scripture is too obvious to make up - I kid you not - this is a must see.
There is a lot of evidence for the Exodus. A review I watched a while back, only mentions one piece of evidence (a papyrus), but there is evidence even beyond the Exodus, which puts it within the right time frame within the sequence of events (his focus for finding the truth). A lot of scholars and archeologists (not all) disregard all that Mahoney shares in the doccumentary as coincidence and illusions. Like one Egyptian scribe's writing, dismissed that he couldn't possibly have witnessed the plagues, because of a certain issue, which you have to watch to find out, hahaha.

Mahoney's interviews with David Rohl were the best to say the least! The insight GOD has given him (that he shared in the doccie) is so stunning! I haven't read any of his books yet, so I can't speak to more than the interviews, but I am certainly interested in his work around Exodus.

What made me extra excited about the doccie in general is the animations made for the it. They very very closely resemble what GOD had me make for Exodus! I'm specifically referring to the massive Semitic settlements they talk about (all of which were abandoned overnight). Even the difference in building coloration (Egyptian = more white, Hebrew = more brownish gray). I was so excited when I saw that!

He does end the doccie on a very fair statement - what he presented is still considered contraversial and debated among the professionals in their respective fields of research. Specifically on the basis of Egyptian chronology and the evidence for Joshua's conquest, but again everything shared is so compelling and far reaching, you kind of have to be blocked by deception or not want to see it at all...

On a different note, I am very troubled by the state of mind of some of the people interviewed... The doccie does a very good job of presenting varied opinions on the topics and evidence, but there is a very strong 'scholars can't make big mistakes' mindset with some. I understand why there is a kick against re-studying something (humility isn't easy), but when you have as much as Mahoney presents, when the surrounding histories don't line up, not to mention evidence that contradicts the conclusions made, you really have to admit there is a problem that has to be investigated... The scary part is that they just flat out dismiss it completely... This may be because their own conclusions have also been drawn largely from those studies and it may also challenge them to change their minds about certain issues that they also don't want to.

There was once no known physical evidence of Pilate (a stone proving him to have physically existed was found in 1961, before that he was only mentioned in writings, contemporary and later, as well as Appocryphal texts - see 1911 Encyclopeadia Brittanica, Pontius Pilate), no older manuscripts than the middle ages (until dead sea scrolls found between 1946-1956), etc. Outside of Biblical archaeology, one expert states that newer Egypt was built over ancient Egypt and he estimates that only 30% of Egypt's monuments have been unearthed with 70% still buried (Zahi Hawass - The Guardian.com - 9 Sep 2017). That is a lot still unknown! One discovery, according to the same article, was of a statue that was initially miss-identified as Ramses II and then identified as Psamtek I.

With those kinds of recent finds, mistakes and disagreement among experts, so much still unknown and a very fragmented and degraded history, I think the case made by those interviewed by Mahoney certainly deserves to be seriously considered and investigated. If they are found to be right - which I believe they are, a lot of work and revision will follow, reaching a lot further than just Egypt's own timeline, because it presents a possible adjustment of around 350 years - there are some serious chronology questions that David Rohl has taken on in a very good way...

Basically, Mahoney should be taken seriously, especially since he mentioned that some seem to be afraid of bringing it to light - why? He does make, imo, a very strong case. What is that case based on? Gotta watch to find out!

As an aside, he truly let the people he interviewed speak - I was amazed at how good he was at listening. I don't think he interrupted once - seriously! It is a wonderful documentary that you can watch again and again and you will luv it every time.
