Hey all!

This week's vlog!

GOD is so awesome!!!

Background elements
Quite a near and dear pet project, haha. I want to have my backgrounds appear painterly and while there are many ways to get close to it, I have not had the leading on it that GOD would help me get it in an evening or something. This is more like one of those insanely complex things that need a lot of different facets to be in place for the look to work, so each facet needs time to learn. This week, GOD's focus was on "brush ...

Adjusted

Hey all!

This week's vlog!!!

GOD is super amazing!!!

- Goats
The goats are still not a topic that is finished this week. Since they are still the only animals added and the video is named after them, they also still feature (I did not change the camera's animation). What did change about them was their layout and their size (seed adjustment).

- Overall scene proportions
While the goats got adjusted, they were not the only ones that needed it. The houses were too big compared to the palace, th...

Hey all!

Today's vlog!!!

GOD is super awesome!!! :D

- Particle distribution
Quite a topic to say the least! Particles are extremely useful for increasing scene size (and memory consumption), while keeping render times as low as possible. In fact, it makes scenes that were impossible on a single PC possible! I learned about this during the Esther 6 project, when GOD lead me to use particles to add details to the buildings, just because it was faster and on another project, where I had to make a...

Normal editing

Hey all!

This week's vlog!

GOD is soooo good!!

 - Normal editing
Now, this is a bit of a topic for me that I really try to avoid, as it's editing is really not as straight forward as I would like it to be, but it certainly not a bad thing. It really enables you to create stylistic inaccuracy while still being well able to move lights and all sorts of other scene objects and still get the right look. In regards to trees, I've wanted that painted and layered look for a while and this is, I believe,...

A palmy vlog

Hey all!

This week's vlog:

GOD is so super!! :D

 - Snake improvements
The snake was the first thing to be dealt with this week. I spent quite a large amount of time on it in the attempts to re-rig it and see if the kink goes away, but the conclusion, as in the video, was that it was only reduced, but did not go away. What did make it go away was animating the head using the 3D cursor. When the head goes forward, the neck is kept straight, but this makes the nose point towards the ground. Just til...

About Me

Marius Oberholster Hey all! I've been doing CG work full-time since 2011. GOD has been with me, supported me and taught me all the way. HE tells us to do all things as unto the LORD and that is my goal. I do whatever I believe the HOLY SPIRIT is leading me to do and it's not always easy, but it's always worth it to be obedient! JESUS is awesome!! If you don't know HIM yet, follow the link above!
