A speech

Hey all!
This week's vlog!
GOD is so good!! Thank YOU!
There is another suggestion to apply from Sage and that is to replace at least the one colorramp from the anisotropic shader with a sharpness setting (multiply nodes). This will give the user easier control of the smoothness, without them having to dig into the shader's workings.
Enter visual aid! In order to make these long speeches, aka fair warnings, more interesting, I am really led to use visual aid. You'll notice that in the story board video as well. I want to use visual aid that will add to what he says and not steal your attention away from what he says. So it either has to be literal or just has to tie in with the frogs themselves - some sort of clever froggy transition - which is more the way I'm leaning atm.

- Eevee toon shader update
I am so thankful to be on this project! It does take up a lot of time, but in the end all that time will be more than made up with the much faster render time - not to mention the multiplied decades saved for other users as well!
This week I got to kick off with the release of v2 for the Eevee toon shaders. I'll be honest, I thought that it would end there and that my part would be done, but nope, hahaha. I got such amazing feedback from the BNPR group, so I could actually still improve these. Sage Light BWK and Pua Kai made suggestions to help with the over sensitivity and curving to barely any difference. Their suggestions were monumentally helpful. Unfortunately, they did not work very well on their own (because this is node built and not coded). GOD led me to combine their suggestions. Sage's idea of doing an If, then and else using math only and Pua's idea of using colorramps. GOD lead me to apply Sage's idea of the If with Pua's of the colorramp.
Now, in the final, the colorramp defines the fading from one to another, while the math gives us a much less sensitive start, while the ending remains the same (was never a problem since the value node is extremely sensitive anyway).
There is another suggestion to apply from Sage and that is to replace at least the one colorramp from the anisotropic shader with a sharpness setting (multiply nodes). This will give the user easier control of the smoothness, without them having to dig into the shader's workings.

- Something interesting GOD showed
Shortly after I woke up Monday, I was thinking about the shaders and GOD showed me the most interesting thing. Because of the flattening of the normals for the display, there is essentially no diffuse calculations being done. Yes, the shadows do to some extent, but without the diffuse being calculated, you truly lose a very foundational element to the shader. I was stunned. I had never noticed that! We just built it anyway because of the emission shader doing exactly that - it never sunk in that the diffuse shader, flattened, did the exact same thing - only light and shadow had an effect on it. This also applied to the normal maps and bump map stuff... Amazing!! Thank YOU LORD!!!
- The speech
Chapter 8 opens with the part where Moses confronts Pharaoh before the plague of the frogs. It is quite a lengthy speech, because he kinda carries on about where all the frogs will get into. From a filmic standpoint, it is too much information, because it can all be shown, but we have to remember that we're dealing with eyewitness testimony here, not a script we picked up online for free that the writer is desperate to produce.
Enter visual aid! In order to make these long speeches, aka fair warnings, more interesting, I am really led to use visual aid. You'll notice that in the story board video as well. It is a very interesting visual dilemma! hahaha.
- The lip sync
Having done a tutorial on this, I am using that very method. I do feel like the strong consonants still need some adjustment - just to make them pop more. Not all, but definitely the p's from People and some of the m's also need some work. Overall, I think the timing can be a little bit more on-point for the jaw movement (baked audio) - it's just a smidge too smooth.
Thank you to everyone who reads, comments and watches!
Biggest thanx to GOD for helping me with this. Without HIM, none of this would be possible! :D
